Sunday Styles

This week’s fashion post is from this morning, because I’ve been having a really hard week and haven’t really been thinking about my fashion parade. Thank heavens for Sunday! I always have something cute to take a picture of for church, so it’s saving me this week.

Today’s fashion statement…

I’ve posted about this dress before, but it now has an official outfit, and it’s accessorized, so it gets a second turn.

Blue String Necklace (Not seen in picture above): $2.00 at a thrift store, a surprise present from my mom.

Navy Belt: $1.00 another thrift store find.

Red Lace Dress: $3.00 on a whim. (Again thrift, but I added the accent fabric.)

Should It Fly?

So, I need a new way to post consistently. I’m absolutely terrible at remembering, and this is a problem. I really do want to post, and I love hearing from all of you, but hey, my life is busy, and in the process,  I forget. So, here’s my plan. Every Saturday, I’ll post an outfit from the week, explaining a few things about it, and a few clothing suggestions. I’ll post other stuff too when I think about it and get the time, but hopefully this’ll help me remember.

So, I know this is a day late, but better late then never.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThis outfit consists of several things, but here’s a list, top to bottom.

Fabulous Black Hat: Garage sale find by Mom, $1.00.

Indian Looking Choker Necklace: Given by a friend who works on movie sets.

White T-shirt: Thrift store purchase, $2.00.

Ripped Up (But not holey) Brand Name Jeans: Given to me at garage sale by someone who wanted to get rid of stuff. The added fabric behind the holes was my own act, I dislike gapping on my thighs.

PERFECT Turquoise And Brown Cowboy Boots: Sent to me by my fantastic grandmother, $60.00.

TOTAL: $63.00

So, quick explanation of my thinking while putting this together.

This was built around the boots, and because of that, the outfit needed to be country. Jeans kind of symbolize country everything for me, so these ripped up brown accent jeans couldn’t have been more perfect. The white shirt was a point of vanity for me, I tan extremely easily and white makes me look even darker. The necklace matched beautifully, and it’s my favorite, so I figured I might as well wear it, and the hat…Well, I think that the hat needs little or not explanation considering  I was going for country.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERASo there’s my first attempt at fashion advice, don’t know how it went, but hopefully this will help me remember to post on a regular basis.

My New Footie P.J.s….

Now, I am not against footed pajamas. They are fine and dandy. But…Some things were never meant to have closed off feet…

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

And one of those things is jeans…Do these look a little long to you??? I have some jeans made by this brand (Lucky Brand) But these are the “long” variety. I have kind of  short legs for my height, so long jeans didn’t work out that well.  But lo and behold, this is why scissors were made! A few brief snips later, and after a few seams on the trusty Dressmaker, I had myself some great jeans.

Of course, great jeans need a great outfit, so I went on a closet rummage. The result was pretty good I think, and all in all I’m pretty pleased.

So here’s to a great pants repair. Cute, functional, comfy…Yeah, can you tell I’m happy with them?

Totally Tutus

Again with my super busy life. Sorry for the long hole between posts, but here I am again. My school recently had a dance. My friend and I decided that we needed to do something crazy for it. And we needed to match. The decision: Tutus. Crazy? Indeed, but crazy cool. We spent one afternoon at my house, and ta-da!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two tutus! We had so much fun! We matched that day, and we were fabulous. The tutu skirt is made up of different colors of netting, and the waistband is made of cotton poly solid black fabric.

I Had Fun!

My school had a dance a while ago (and when I say a while I mean 2 months ago:) My school calls dances “Stomps”, which doesn’t make sense until you go to one and see that none of the guys ever dance with the girls. You can’t really blame them because if you do dance with someone people will video tape you. No joke, they really will. All “Stomps” are planned by the student leaders, and I am a student leader, so I knew about it before the rest of the student body. Because of this I had a lot of time to plan an outfit.

The final outfit was Black skinny jeans with orange shirt, turquoise tank-top, black hat with orange ribbon (not the hat in the picture, we decided on a different black hat last-minute, but it did still have the same ribbon), and a scarf that I made myself. The scarf is easy to make and I will probably do a tutorial on it sometime. The outfit was a success and I had a great time.

Its So Beautiful!!!!!!!!

So cute! My mom thinks that it’s almost too adult for a twelve-year-old, but I don’t think so.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

My mom is a miracle worker! This is so pretty. The pin she made is a nice accent,  too.

When you combine all that with $3.00 thrift store high heels, this becomes the ultimate party outfit.
