I know, I know. It’s been almost 2 years. But here I am.
I need to apologize for dropping off the map. Once high school happened, I started posting less, and less, and quite suddenly I stopped posting altogether.
Some tough stuff happened about 18 months ago, and my life got a little crazy. I stopped quilting for about 4 months after that while I gathered myself back together. After that time I started quilting again, but my blog has stayed silent. I’m happy to say that I’ve now finished the top that I’m calling my “Healing Quilt” (the first quilt I started working on again after I came back to quilting) and I think I’m ready to come back to you all.
Tough things happen, but I’m so grateful for you all, and all of you that have kept checking in on me even while I wasn’t so involved in the quilting community for a while. I’m also really grateful for my mom at Weddingdressblue and all the support she’s given me through my high school years; and that she’s kept all of you updated on my projects through her blog.
It’s good to be back.
P.S. This pattern is a non-paper piecing version of the pattern “Big Top” that my mom and I adapted.
Well, it seems every time I make a good resolution to you all, something goes slightly wrong…Like me not posting for over a month.
It’s not that I haven’t been quilting. I have been. Bunches and bunches actually. Almost all of the little free time is spent quilting, but due to that, I have little other free time to do things like posting. That’s all fine and dandy, but I thought that you all might like an update.
Yes, I know. Lots of bright colors…But with the coming spring, why not? I think they’re wonderful and they make me happy. They also happen to be part of the “52 in 2015” project that my mom and I have undertaken https://weddingdressblue.wordpress.com/52-in-2015/. I’m excited to keep working.
P.S. I’m planning on doing some serious remodeling to the blog here in a little while, so if you have any suggestions for me, I’d love to hear it.
New baby quilt!!! I’m absolutely in love with my little pin wheels! I normally dislike a binding being the same fabric as the back, but somehow it works…
So there’s another little quilt done! 🙂
I’ve been working on this for AGES. Unfortunately, I have no official start-date for this long-time UFO (Unfinished Fabric Object (Is it a UFO? Not technically fabric I suppose, but it’s sort of in the same boat as all those things…Right?)) but it’s been at some stage of construction for at least a year now (Conservative estimate). AND NOW…
And along with this complete crochet project, I have started a mystery…
Thanks for reading,
Remember about that never-ending project?
Well here I am again. Sewing, sewing, using it to keep me from going stir crazy because I leave for me performance in a few hours. Well, I will persevere, with both the quilt and the dance.
We’ve all had those projects that we started…And they won’t end…
I’m being haunted by one of those “phantom” projects right now. It seems to me that no matter how many of the Frances quilt tops I get done, there’s just another one to smile evilly at me needing to be sewn together. AGH! This is driving me crazy! I’ll push through, I just might be crazy by the end.
Now, I quilted a lot last summer, as I do every summer. That’s great, I know that it’s good for me, and I enjoy it. But as I was cleaning out my room this year….
I had almost forgotten about these! They are both such sweet quilts, and they had somehow just been…I’m not really sure. Set aside or something? Anyway, they’re going to get done now, I have decided. I’m making up a bunch of tops, and then I’m going to quilt them all at once, and, as my mom puts it, bind until my fingers bleed. I’ve finished the little top that I posted about a few days ago.
It’s such a silly little thing, but I really enjoy working small, and I haven’t worked on anything new for a long time, so this made me feel vastly better. I hope to continue working away, and I’m planning on having a booth at the farmers market again this year.
Keep things crafty!
