Coming Home Again

I know, I know. It’s been almost 2 years. But here I am.

I need to apologize for dropping off the map. Once high school happened, I started posting less, and less, and quite suddenly I stopped posting altogether.

Some tough stuff happened about 18 months ago, and my life got a little crazy. I stopped quilting for about 4 months after that while I gathered myself back together. After that time I started quilting again, but my blog has stayed silent. I’m happy to say that I’ve now finished the top that I’m calling my “Healing Quilt” (the first quilt I started working on again after I came back to quilting) and I think I’m ready to come back to you all.

Tough things happen, but I’m so grateful for you all, and all of you that have kept checking in on me even while I wasn’t so involved in the quilting community for a while. I’m also really grateful for my mom at Weddingdressblue and all the support she’s given me through my high school years; and that she’s kept all of you updated on my projects through her blog.

It’s good to be back.

P.S. This pattern is a non-paper piecing version of the pattern “Big Top” that my mom and I adapted.

  1. The quilt is very nice. It looks beautiful on the bed, and what a great size
I recall a lot of drama in MY teenage life, and also in my daughters teenage lives.
I hope the tough stuff was not too memorable or life scarring. I hope it was more of a good challenge that made you supah strong.

  2. I am so glad that you are back and doing better again. And I am sorry that you had to go through the hard things. And your quilt is very pretty and looks like it was/is a lot of work! And I know that just being in high school and a teenager is a very busy time of life. The year that you were doing your 52 quilts to give back to the hospital that had helped you, you posted I think, a gold and maybe brown quilt, but it wasn’t finished. I was wondering if you ever finished it. It was very, very nice and definitely stuck with me! Good that you are quilting again!

  3. Welcome back! We’re still here. =) You have been a very busy person in those two years, and had a lot of things going on. Your quilt top is wonderful! Color and design are terrific, and I’m going to say very modern. When you have a chance, I’d love to see your water quilt you did for class a couple of years ago, and hear how boxing went for you, too. =) There, you have two more posts lined up. LOL
